1. Sample: Favrene Jefferson covered comport (10.5” tall) with vivid iridescence to both cover and bowl, made ca. 1974-75.    $285.00

2. Sample: 8” vase with double crimp. Label indicates that this piece was made on 4/20/62, so it is likely an early attempt to make a cased glass color reminiscent of the 1880s Wheeling “Peachblow”.    $150.00

 4. Sample: Jade Green double crimped lampshade on contemporary hardware (13” tall). Label indicates this shade was made on 6-28-79.     $50.00

 5. Early decorated pitcher: No. 821 “cannonball” 10” tall pitcher with elaborate hand painted white grapes, green leaves and lots and lots of gold. This is a very early Fenton piece, likely dating from 1907-08.    $265.00

26. Sample: iridescent Poppy lamp with unusual silver finish in contemporary hardware (13” tall). This was probably made ca. 1974-75.  $35.00

 30. Experimental Carnival glass sample: iridized light amethyst Double Wedding Ring 6” tall goblet with flared top, made by Fenton with an L. G. Wright mould; there is a W on the underside of the goblet. Label indicates that the glass color is “Lilac” and that this piece was made on 3-26-82.  $35.00

 31. French Opalescent Coin Dot 8.5” tall 7471 barber bottle. Label indicates that this piece was made on 2-27-58.  $200.00

 32. Sample: Plum (pressed Cranberry) 3995 Hobnail Cat Slipper, 5.5” long. Label indicates this piece was made on 5-762.  $145.00

 33. Samples: set of four 8” Custard Satin plates. There are four different New England seaside scenes, each designed by artist Denise Patchell Olson (now deceased). These date from the late 1970s or early 1980s, and we believe Fenton was exploring the possibility of a licensing agreement with this artist at that time. Each plate is signed “Patchell Olson” on the front.  $210.00

 37. Delmer Stowasser: Opal off hand Elephant figurine, 2.75” tall. Label indicates this piece was made on 10-3-80. Delmer, who is now retired, came to the Fenton factory on April 24, 2008, and signed this piece: “Delmer S.”  $180.00

 38. Sample: Cobalt Blue/Milk Glass slag bell, 6” tall. Probably made ca. 1989 when the glass company was making items in Almost Heaven slag for the Fenton Gift Shop.   $175.00

 49. Sample: Satin-finished Burmese Jacqueline 3.25” tall creamer with applied light blue handle. Labels indicate this piece was made on 1-18-61 and satin finished in April of that year.   $70.00

 50. Sample: this 5.5” tall 3762 Hobnail pitcher has a thin Milk Glass interior and an exterior that is a light violet in color; note the applied ribbed handle, also violet in color. Label indicates that this piece was made on 11-17-60.  $130.00

 62. Dave Fetty sample: Master glass artisan Dave Fetty used green frit in crystal for the body of this 7.25” tall vase before creating the pulled feather decoration with an added twist and a cut top! This vase is personally signed by Dave Fetty.  $175.00

 63. Sample: opaque purple/gray 4” tall vase with crystal crest. Label indicates this piece was made on 8-3-60.  $110.00

 64. Sample: Favrene 5276 FN Butterfly Koi Fish, ca. 2005 (the phrase “photo sample” writing on the underside indicates that this piece was used in photographing for Fenton catalogs).    $50.00

 65. Sample: Blue Burmese 3.5” tall bottle (mould used for the Katja line). Label indicates that this piece was made on 2-23-83.   $40.00

 67. Experimental color sample: amberina 4443 Thumbprint sherbet, 4” tall. The color is quite similar to Libbey’s “Amberina” of the early 20th century. Label indicates that this piece was made on 8/2/62.   $85.00

 68. Early Carnival glass experimental sample: this 5” tall Colonial Green Thumbprint piece has an iridescent finish, and the label indicates that this item was made on 1-25-61, long before Fenton had Carnival glass ready for the marketplace in 1970.    $40.00

 70. Frank Workman sample: Using black glass and Aventurine green frit, glass artisan Frank Workman created this 7.25” tall pitcher. Note the applied Milk Glass decoration and the black handle. This pitcher is personally signed by Frank Workman.   $100.00

 72. Experimental color sample: dark Smoke Overlay 5.25” tall pitcher with Milk Glass interior and applied dark Smoke handle. The label is not readable, but similar samples date ca. late 1967.   $75.00

 73. Sample: Vasa Murrhina lamp made with Aventurine green and blue frit on Milk Glass and covered with crystal, ca. 1964-66. The hardware is contemporary, and this map stands 17.5” tall.   $170.00

 74. Sample: Peach Opalescent 5150 Atlantis 6.5” d. vase with wide flare to top. This was made ca. 1981, when Fenton was making similar items as a special order for MLT Glass.   $130.00

 81. Robert Barber sample: this 6” tall pitcher, ca. 1974-75, has a yellow body decorated with applied tan threading and then cased with crystal. Note the crystal foot and the applied crystal ribbed handle.   $300.00

 82. Sample: Smoke Melon bowl, about 6.5” d.  This color was the subject of much experimentation at Fenton in the 1960s-70s, and samples range from various shades of brown to a light blue. We believe this piece (label indicates it was made on 8-13-80) reflects the desired hue, although the color was not put into the Fenton line.  $35.00

 83. Sample: Topaz Opalescent 3.5” tall plain salt/pepper shaker with crystal foot, probably made ca. 1959-60 (the top is contemporary). Note: this rare salt/pepper shaker has several small bubbles in the glass.  $90.00

 84. Delmer Stowasser: Colonial Pink off hand Elephant figurine, 2.75” tall. Label indicates this piece was made on 8-13-80. Delmer, who is now retired, came to the Fenton factory on April 24, 2008, and signed this piece: “Delmer S.”  $250.00

Dave Fetty and Robert Bomkamp sample: this 9.5” tall vase is ruby glass cased with Milk Glass (made by Dave Fetty), and it has been decorated with an original cameo carving by artist Robert Bomkamp. The fairy garden scene is similar to a vase in the Fenton line, but this piece has some different details, especially the row of highly detailed acorns just below the top edge. This vase is embossed with Dave Fetty’s personal stamp and is inscribed with the signature of Robert Bomkamp.  $750.00

 92. Sample: 8470 Eagle paperweight. Made ca. 1974-75, this opaque dark red example with orange areas reflects some stage in the development of the Patriot Red color Fenton wanted.   $115.00

 93. Carnival glass experimental sample: this Colonial Blue Rose 7” tall goblet has been iridized with a light marigold spray. Engraving indicates this piece was made on 7-31-67.   $105.00

 94. Robert Barber sample egg: This 4.75” tall egg has a Milk Glass body and combines dark amethyst and Aventurine green threading under crystal glass, made ca. 1975-76.   $350.00

 95. Sample: Melon 5.5” tall pitcher with applied crystal ribbed handle; the pitcher has a thin Milk Glass interior and a Lilac exterior. Label indicates this piece was made on 3-25-82.   $70.00

 233. Michael Dickinson sample lamp (23” tall): the Custard Satin shade is handpainted with trees, mountains, rocks and a waterfall scene. This lamp has its original hardware from the mid-1980s.  234. Robert Barber sample: this 9.75” tall off hand vase is made of Rosalene glass, and the applied black decoration has wonderful swirls. This vase has the oval Fenton logo and is dated 1976.   $800.00

 235. Angelo Rossi, one of a kind: This off hand 8.25” d. tazza was created by glass artisan Angelo Rossi when he worked at Fenton in 2003-04. The bowl of the tazza is French Opalescent glass with a spiral optic treatment. The edge and the foot are ruby glass applied by hand, and there is also some hand applied ruby glass around the stem.  236. Bird and Nest by Delmer Stowasser and Nathan Sheafor: The French Opalescent Bird (2.75” tall) was made off hand by Delmer Stowasser on 9-24-80. Delmer signed the Bird (“Delmer S.”) on April 23, 2008, and he also talked with guest glass artisan Nathan Sheafor at that time. Nathan created the Nest (5.25” d.) on April 25, 2008, and he has personally signed it with an engraver. We’ve added a bit of museum gel to hold the Bird in place, and the bird and nest make a perfect combination of the work of two extraordinary glassworkers.    $210.00

 238. Tom Ingram Snowman: this off hand Snowman (6” tall) was created by skilled glassworker Tom Ingram, who is no longer at Fenton. The body is Milk Glass, and all the colored dots to make the face and buttons are applied glass.   $100.00

 239. Signed Goe whimsy: this Colonial Pink whimsy vase stands 7.5” tall, and the top has been ground and perfectly polished. This piece is engraved on its underside with the date “10-7-68” and is signed “C. W. Goe”. Charlie Goe was a glass chemist at Fenton during most of the 1960s, and he was responsible for developing many of the glass colors in production during that decade.   $185.00

 240. Nathan Sheafor sample: this magnificent vase (10” tall, 11” d. at widest point) was made by guest glass artisan Nathan Sheafor at Fenton during the week of April 21-25, 2008. Using crystal and various colors of frit, Nathan created this piece, which has a very light mottled brown interior and a wonderful red-green-white exterior. Note the applied black top edge and the foot that consists of crystal and black. This vase is personally signed by Nathan Sheafor on the underside of the foot.   $225.00

 241. Louise Piper reverse painted lamp: this crystal satin reverse painted shade was done by Louise Piper in the early 1970s. She did not sign the shade, but we have an inventory note prepared by Frank M. Fenton on January 8, 1975, that reads as follows: “10” Satin Crystal Ball Shade – decorated on inside by Louise Piper w/floral decoration”. We’ve mounted this shade on high quality hardware, and this lamp stands 27” tall.    $250.00

 246. Robin Spindler lamp: Award winning decorating designer J. K. “Robin” Spindler created this lamp in 2004, combining handpainting and reverse handpainting in an all around woodland scene that is remarkable for its depth and detail (can you find the woodpecker?). The crystal shade is about 14” in diameter, and the lamp stands 23” tall. This lamp received an award from the Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorators. The lamp is signed “J. K.  249. Robert Barber sample with various signatures: this 12” tall off hand vase has a Milk Glass interior, and the applied amethyst glass decoration is cased with pure crystal. The most interesting aspects of this vase are the signatures and random numbers on the bottom: “Dave Fetty 1975,” “AR” (probably Anthony Rosena), and “Frank M. Fenton”. The numbering (“75 edition”  “50/700” etc.) really does not signify any sort of limited edition. We believe this vase was used to see how the diamond point engraver would work, and this mixture of random numbers and personal signatures—including that of company President Frank M.
