Randy Clark joins McCarthy Realty

McCarthy Real Estate, Inc., of Marietta is announcing the addition of Real Estate Agent/Auctioneer Randy Clark to their staff.  Randy is making this transition after having been a sales agent for Dave Anderson Realty of Caldwell for the past 9 years.

Randy can take care of all your real estate auction needs, specializing in real estate, estates, antiques and collections.  Randy has been a real estate agent and auctioneer for the past 31 years, and is a licensed Auctioneer in both Ohio and W.Va.  He had worked as sales agent for McCarthy’s for 12 years earlier in his career and is happy to be back with the firm again.  Says Clark, “I have always had a good relationship with the McCarthy family.  The founder Walter McCarthy, who was a friend and mentor, passed away last year and I will miss his friendship and advise. His children have taken the helm and are doing a great job.  They believe in hard work and good communication with buyers and sellers, not lots of hype and excessive advertisement to sell real estate.  I like that.  It shouldn’t cost a fortune for a person to sell a house.  Our commission rates are lower than folks around here are used to.  There has to be advertising and commission fees, when selling real estate, but it can be done, with consideration as to what it is going to cost the seller.   We just want to get it sold.”

Randy is a graduate of the Reppert School of Auctioneering, member of the Ohio Association of Auctioneers, Board member of the National Fenton Glass Collectors Assoc., Board member of the National Imperial Glass Collectors Society, and also teaches winter classes on antiques, collecting, and auctions at Marietta College, also for many years wrote a weekly column called “Attic Treasurers” for the Marietta Times.  He has been the owner/auctioneer of the Dexter City Auction Gallery, which is located in the old Dexter City Schoolhouse, Dexter City Ohio, for 20 years.  “I have the best auction crew in Southeastern Ohio working with me. That’s the reason we’ve been so successful.  Not least of all is Auctioneer Donald “Jake” West, who is one of the best.  I also could not operate without Lois Briggs who takes care of my web site and many other job descriptions.  My parents, Ralph & Jolene Clark, who I call my senior advisers and ‘free help’, are always available to lend a helping hand.  Also, I have to mention Gerald Elliott (cashier for 20 yrs.), Eileen Barlock (phone/absentee bids), Bob Lewis, Pat Elliott (clerk), Steve Cain, Chris Cobb, Gwen Morgenstern, Jera Nicely, Allison Waddell, Billie Clark, Jason Carpenter, Kendra Stewart, Aaron Carpenter, Levi Milstead, Cameron Brown, Pam Grabianowski, Nancy Piunno (cashier), plus many others who fill in when needed.  We work hard and have a good time.

We have moved large estates from as far away as Detroit, Eastern Pa., Florida, and Wisconsin, just to name a few, and haven’t broken a thing – well, maybe one…” Not only can we hold auctions at the Auction Gallery, we also have many auctions “on site” where we sell the contents of the home and the property all in one day.  When selling real estate, it is not unusual to place a reserve on the property, giving the seller the option to accept or reject the bid.
